Amidst the backdrop of 1943, Carson Shaw embarks on a journey to Chicago, with a singular goal in her sights - to try out for the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. In the Windy City, she is greeted by a throng of talented and driven women who share her passion and ambition for the sport of baseball. As she navigates this new environment, she forges lasting connections and bonds that expand her world in ways she could never have imagined.
However, Carson is not the only one who makes the pilgrimage to Chicago with dreams of playing pro baseball. Enter Max Chapman, a native of Rockford, who too, hopes to make a mark in the game.
